BoobyBits looks at the problem of Nipple Poke Through

From time to time, I have ladies ask me if there is a sure fire method of preventing unruley nipples showing through sheer material – otherwise known as nipple poke through. I am hearing that some of the products and solutions out there for nipple control are less than perfect so here is my input.

It’s a common scenario,- You are heading off to a wonderful evening function, you are wearing the most delicious backless dress, plunging neckline carefully secured with dress tape and there you are, catching admiring glances from those around you because your nipples are very visibly ‘poking through’ your dresses sheer material. Hmmmm… Whilst this can be very titillating for those looking on, it is usually an unwelcome effect from one’s own perspective.

Okay, so I won’t keep you in suspenders; there is a solution and it really is quite effective. I want to tell you about one of America’s best kept secrets; Petal Tops from Braza. There has been a huge amount of after market or copy cat products comming into the market but I can report that these little beauties are flat out the best and this is because they actually work – perfectly, to flatten and conceal the nipple. They are available in the UK from BoobyBits. It’s a one size product in a bargain 5 pair pack. Now here’s the thing: Not all women have the same size nipples, and, there is also the question of areola size. Well, worry not my darlings, Petal Tops are large enough to cover the vast majority of nipples even for those ladies who have very large nipples.

Whilst we are about it, I will provide a little clarity about the phenomena that is ‘nipple poke through’:

Just like your arms respond to cold or maybe an emotional state (perhaps certain music) and become covered in ‘Goosebumps’, the nipples can react by becoming erect. This is caused by a group of tiny muscles contracting to form a tight dome like formation. This contraction can include the areola to actually form a larger group of small nipple like protrusions surrounding the nipple base. However, there are women who say they don’t suffer from this problem at all (nipple poke through when wearing sheer tops and such). Well, that is true but the fact of the matter is that many of us have very active nipples, just dying to spring into action for the even the slightest reason. Whilst other women have nipples that are very laid back and which really don’t rise to the occasion too much (unless they receive significant stimulation that is). I just wanted to set the record straight here by stating that like everything else, ‘nipple response’ can vary dramatically from woman to woman just like her nipple size incidentally. So, is size related to the problem of very active nipples then? The answer to that is no, actual size makes no difference other than that larger nipples will of course make a more dramatic entrance (if they get the trigger to become erect). Cold weather including temperature change; moving from a warm room into a cooler area can often cause nipples to become erect. Yes, changes in air temperature can cause spontaneous nipple poke through, as well as visual stimulus (seen something [or someone] you like the look of.. – ooh la la!), and of course as we all know, direct stimulation will do the trick. Does age have anything to do with this then? Well, to a point yes it does. You may remember your nipples being fairly well behaved in your younger years but now seemingly wanting to rise at every opportunity. A woman’s nipples can subtly continue to increase in size throughout a her life as she gently matures through all her fabulous phases and heads into her later years.

Always look out for a painful nipple or one which becomes inverted out of the blue – spot anything you’re not sure about including colour change or discharge, just pop along to your GP and let them check it out.

Anyway, that’s Nipple Poke Through covered – if you can excuse the pun! As a closing point here I just want to say that although our recommended nipple cover’s Petal Tops from Braza are probably the planets favourite adhesive nipple cover, occasionally some women (who have very sensitive skin) may be unable to use such adhesive products. If you are using adhesive nipple covers for the first time, we recommend performing a simple test to prove suitability before finally employing them to keep your assets under control.

I mean, there you are strutting your stuff in your fabulous skin tight jeans, beautiful heels and oops, there goes the hideous Pant Line to destroy the look completely – tee hee! But you already knew that, didn’t you, about wearing a thong with your killer jeans I mean. Well, there are thongs and there are thongs so that’s what I am here to explain today. Now I am not saying all thongs are ‘pants’ no far from it it’s just that these incredible creations from Lola Luna represent the pinnacle of micro thong design and technology – don’t take my word for it though, go try a couple and see what happens to your day:)

Focus on female armpit hair.

Well here is a tricky one;- female armpit hair… I suppose its a bit like Marmite in that you either accept it or hate it.

I am asking; ‘should a woman remove her armpit hair as a matter of course or should she be able to relax and be under no social pressure to conform to… well, whatever it is that makes it a womanly standard to be underarm hair-less’. This, especially when it is so perfectly normal for man to sport underarm hair no matter what his station in life.

Okay, so we know a fairly large proportion of women allow at least some hair growth of their armpit hair over the cooler winter months, since they will not be wearing (armpit) revealing clothing during this time. The exception to this are those women who simply can’t stand the sight of this hair and will remove it at all costs, all year round, without fail. In addition to this there is also a body of women who like to keep their pits super smooth, hairless for their partners since it is the way they expect their woman to be.What’s all the fuss about, it’s simply a natural phenomenon isn’t it? And, as far as we can tell, it’s not ‘dirty‘ to have this ‘pit hair’ is it? Let’s look at this logically for a moment then. Does having ‘pit hair’ make for super smelly underarms any more so than for those women that regularly shave? Is there some sort of connection with seedy sexual activity, or maybe the perception is of low academic ability if one is sporting underarm hair? After all, having this hair growth automatically means your most definitely not a posh bird right? Well, of course all of those statements are absolute tosh as we well know. So what is the problem with this troublesome hair then, why is it so bad to be natural in this respect? It seems there is virtually a label attached to such women, and that one will be dismissed as being ‘one of those eastern European’ types, or ‘she is probably German since they don’t seem to mind over there. This sort of sentiment always makes me smile whilst at the same time I find these judgments very distasteful since it doesn’t matter a jot about ones origins and I personally don’t really care which country any one is from,- if a woman chooses to allow some underarm hair growth, good luck to her I say. If some countries are perhaps a little more relaxed about underarm hair I say what of it.

I actually sense a bit of movement here towards women accepting that they can in fact choose to allow the odd hair to sprout within their armpits. I sense there is actually more of a movement towards the notion that it is actually acceptable – shock horror! Dare I say, there are now women who simply would not admit they don’t shave but who actually do quite enjoy the freedom not shaving gives them – even if it is only during the cooler winter months. I think there may be some women out there that are simply tired of conforming to stereo types and who want to fight back a little.

Finally, there is of course a small percentage of men and women who are the absolute opposite and would not shave for any reason whatsoever; they see themselves are being normal, complete and totally natural. By the way, these people do move amongst us and they are not wearing animal pelts or clothing made from hessian sacks:)

In our opinion, it is absolutely fine if a woman decides to remove her unwanted armpit hair but equally, it is fine if a woman should decide she likes it and wants to keep it.

Spotlight on Sports Bras.

Whats all this fuss about sports bras a super supporting bra tops about then?

Well this week I had to do a little investigative work… What with all this hype about sports bras,- super firm support,  less bounce and what have you. Now if you are anything like me, I do like to keep pretty active; for example, I love going for a nice long and brisk walk with my little cutie-pie dog. 30 minutes to an hour of this sort of light exercise is just great as a cardio vascular work out as it gets one’s heart pumping very nicely and has one breathing,- breathing more purposefully and more deeply. It also allows one some thinking time. Oh, and its also very good for keeping ones legs and bottom firm and toned. Although having said that, the stilettoes will need to stay at home – tee hee!

However, with a fairly generous G Cup, I do sometimes catch the odd admiring glance whilst out on my runs. I naively though this was just due to the cute vision of a curvy woman taking a brisk walk with her even cuter little dog. However, it may have more to do with rather over-actively swaying boobies within a slightly less than ideal bra (i.e. bra not suitable for jogging and such). With this in mind, I thought it would be worth investigating more closely some of the sporty support options available for women with perhaps a slightly larger than average bust. You see, I never found those dedicated sports bra things, those tops that look like ‘full on’ sports tops with loads of tight fitting Lycra to be appealing. This is because I love my lingerie so much and adore good looking underwear. Anyway, I think I now concede that I will indeed be wearing a much better supporting Bra / Top now that I know about some of the better looking options available. So, very worthwhile research this week. Now I will now be able to enjoy my brisk walks or  jogs with pooch all the more,- some may say I am a spoil sport though…

I think you will (like me), be very suprised as to what is on offer to provide comfotable ‘extra support’ for larger busted women (who like to be active). My personal favourite is the Freya Active Racer Back Sports Bra for B to H Cups and it’s available in Black, White and Nude (as in the image above) and Red. Comfortable wide strap bras
